Scott Guise York, PA Obituary: York College of Pennsylvania Mourns Director of Athletic Communications

York College is deeply saddened to share the passing of our colleague and friend, Scott Guise, Director of Athletic Communications, who served the College with unwavering dedication for 30 years.

Scott joined York College in 1995 and spent the next three decades meticulously shaping the story of Spartan athletics. He worked tirelessly to ensure every team and every student-athlete received the recognition they deserved, approaching every task with precision, humility, and a profound love for his work. He chronicled monumental achievements, like the men’s basketball team’s 2005 Final Four run, but his care was equally present in the small moments. Countless student-athletes cherished when Scott would reach out after a great play or a hard-fought game, his quiet support a constant and genuine presence.

“Scott’s connection to all things Spartan extended far beyond his professional role,” said Assistant Dean Paul Saikia. “He didn’t just tell our story; he was a part of it.”

In recent years, Scott faced significant medical challenges with immense courage, remaining a steady presence at events, his loyalty to the Spartans never wavering. In recognition of his inspiring perseverance, he was named the 2025 recipient of the Middle Atlantic Conference Giant Steps Award.

York College will honor Scott’s life and lasting legacy with a moment of silence at the basketball and wrestling home events on Saturday, December 6, in the Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center.
