A Wednesday afternoon collision in Cathedral City turned fatal, claiming the life of an 86-year-old man. The two-vehicle crash occurred on Date Palm Drive near Techeva Drive, prompting a significant emergency response.

Cathedral City Police officers arrived at the scene shortly before 4:30 p.m. to find both vehicles sustaining major damage. The drivers, the only occupants of each car, were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for urgent treatment.
