Arvin Pedestrian, 18, Identified After Thanksgiving Collision

The Kern County Coroner’s Office has publicly identified the young pedestrian tragically killed in a vehicle collision on Thanksgiving Day. The victim was 18-year-old Jorge Ramirez Sanchez, a resident of Arvin.

The fatal incident occurred on Thursday, November 27, on South Edison Road, just north of Tejon Park Drive. Sanchez was struck by a vehicle, prompting an emergency response. He was transported from the scene to Kern Medical for urgent treatment. Despite medical efforts, Sanchez succumbed to his injuries the following morning, passing away at approximately 8 a.m. on Friday, November 28.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances leading to the collision. The California Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation into the case.
