Matteo Liberante Death, Roddensvale School Mourns student

It is with profound sadness that we share the news that Matteo Liberante passed away last night at the NI Children’s Hospice.

Wee Matteo joined our Roddensvale School family in 2023, and from his very first day, he left an indelible mark on all our hearts. Staff immediately fell in love with him, captivated by his wonderful and infectious smile that could light up any classroom.

Matteo thrived within our sensory curriculum, finding immense joy in simple, beautiful moments. He adored the freedom of the hydro pool, the gentle rhythm of the swing, and, most of all, the quiet comfort of snuggles with our caring staff. His presence was a gift, teaching us about resilience and the purest form of happiness.

Our entire school community is united in grief. At this devastating time, our deepest thoughts, sympathies, and prayers are with his parents, John and Ashley, his brother Arthur, and the wider family circle. We will forever cherish the memory of our brave, smiling boy, Matteo.
