In his memory, IPC held a solemn and heartfelt commemoration ceremony on Thursday, 4 December, gathering staff members to honor his remarkable legacy and unwavering dedication to global scientific advancement, public health, and training.

Prof. Buisson served as Director of the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge from 1999 to 2001, guiding the institution through important scientific developments and strengthening its role within the broader international research landscape. Following his tenure in Cambodia, he became Executive Delegate to the International Network of Pasteur Institutes, reflecting his deep commitment to global collaboration.

Earlier in his distinguished career, Prof. Buisson led the Laboratory of the Institut Pasteur in Dakar and served as a medical biologist and specialist in tropical medicine within the French Armed Forces Medical Service. His expertise and leadership earned him a seat as a Member of the French National Academy of Medicine, a distinction he held since 2007.
